UAW endorses Espy for U.S. Senate

By: Courtney Ingle - October 29, 2018

The UAW has endorsed former Congressman and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Espy for the U.S. Senate citing his commitment to Mississippi’s working families.

Espy served as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture under President Bill Clinton and as a member of Congress from 1987 to 1993.

“Mike is a proven leader and tireless advocate for Mississippi working families,” said UAW Region 8 Director Mitchell Smith. “Mike believes in the dignity of work and protecting Social Security and Medicare so that seniors can retire with dignity.”

Smith said Espy’s focus on being an independent voice for Mississippi’s working families will bring needed change to the gridlock in Washington, D.C.
