The Mississippi Manufacturers Association (MMA) Board of Directors voted unanimously to endorse District Attorney Michael Guest in his campaign for election to the U.S. Congress. MMA made the announcement Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at their board meeting at the Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia, MS. Guest is the Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Mississippi’s Third Congressional District.
MMA President and CEO Jay C. Moon said, “We have chosen to support Michael Guest in his campaign for election because he has been an advocate for Mississippi’s citizens and businesses. His views on government, lower taxes and fewer regulations coincide with those of the MMA, and we believe he will represent Mississippi manufacturers and businesses well in Congress.”
During his 22 years serving as Madison and Rankin County’s District Attorney and Assistant District Attorney, Guest has led the prosecution of 20,000 criminals, worked with the media to launch the DA’s Most Wanted program, supported law enforcement agencies by providing over $20 million seized from criminals, and recovered more than $3.5 million through the Bad Check Unit program to help local businesses.
Guest faces opposition in the November 6, 2018, general election. The MMA encourages its members to support him in his campaign for election.
