Today, Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFPF) announced the start of its “Bridge to Wellbeing” program in Mississippi, to be run by Forest Thigpen.
Thigpen, who led the Mississippi Center for Public Policy for 25 years, has been named Mississippi Outreach Director for Bridge to Wellbeing, an initiative of AFPF. Bridge to Wellbeing brings innovative programming to communities. These programs include expert coaching on topics like practical financial habits, personal health, pursuing new opportunities, and community engagement, all with the aim of providing individuals with the tools and knowledge to improve their quality of life and strengthen their communities. Mississippi is the latest of 12 states to offer Bridge to Wellbeing programs.
Russ Latino, AFPF-Mississippi State Director said, “Americans for Prosperity Foundation has always been about helping people pursue their dreams. Bridge to Wellbeing is an exciting new chapter toward that goal. We could not be more thrilled to have Forest Thigpen at the helm as we begin this journey. Forest has long been a thought leader of real integrity and genuine compassion in Mississippi.
Thigpen said, “For many years, I have stood on the belief that the problems in our state and nation can be solved by individuals, families, churches, and communities working together. I am elated by the opportunity to partner with these sources of our state’s strength to identify barriers to wellbeing and to develop the means to overcome those barriers, allowing people to use their own unique abilities to flourish.”
