Republican candidate for the Third Congressional District, Whit Hughes has written a letter to opponent Michael Guest to engage in at least two debates before the runoff on June 26.
“I am inviting you to participate in a minimum of two debates before election day, June 26. I am confident there will be no shortage of civic-minded organizations willing to host these debates in conjunction with the appropriate media outlets,” said Hughes in his letter to Guest.
Hughes pulled out in second under guest in the party primary on Tuesday. He took just over 21% of the vote, with Guest averaging at 45%.
However, it looks like Guest may turn down Whit’s proposal.
