Here’s what the MDE budget looks like so far #billoftheday

Want to know what the Mississippi Department of Education is looking like as of now? HB 1592 was passed in the House but tabled on a motion to reconsider. The bill was authored by Rep. Read and included finances for the Mississippi Uniform Per Student Funding Formula Program.

House Bill 1592

  1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
  2.   SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much of those sums as may be necessary, are appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of funding K-12 and other related educational activities, including certain agencies and programs, in the State of Mississippi, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018, and ending June 30, 2019,  as follows: defraying excluding the State Board of Education for the purpose of the expenses of the State Department of Education, an the expenses of the Vocational and Technical Education Division………………………………… $ 112,436,295.00.
