Bryant: State employees must take workplace shooter course
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Gov. Phil Bryant is ordering Mississippi state employees to learn how to prepare for and respond to a workplace shooting.
Bryant, a Republican, signed an executive order Tuesday instructing the 30,000-plus state employees to complete the 20-minute course by June 1.
The online presentation is offered by the State Personnel Board, which helps recruit and regulate state employees. The board says it developed the presentation with help from the state Office of Homeland Security, the Mississippi Gaming Commission and police agencies.
