By: Magnolia Tribune - October 13, 2017

MCGEE SWORN INTO MISSISSIPPI HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Missy McGee took the oath of office on Oct. 13 to represent District 102 in the Mississippi House of Representatives.

McGee was elected on Oct. 3 in a run-off special election. She will finish the term of Toby Barker, who stepped down in June after being elected to serve as Mayor of Hattiesburg.

“It is such an honor to have the opportunity to represent my community in the Mississippi Legislature,” said McGee. “I look forward to working with other state leaders to make our state the best it can be for all citizens.”

McGee currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Southern Miss Athletic Foundation and is a member of the Southern Miss Alumni Association. She is also a member of Leadership Pinebelt, the Hattiesburg Junior Auxiliary and the Forrest General Hospital Foundation.

She is a life-long resident of Hattiesburg, where she resides with her husband, Sean, and their two sons, Patrick and Jackson.
