Trial lawyer Carlos Moore files lawsuit against Reps Oliver, Read, McLeod seeking criminal investigation

Lawmaker’s ‘lynched’ Facebook post brings lawsuit

An attorney who unsuccessfully sued to eliminate Confederate symbols from the Mississippi flag is suing the state lawmaker who called for Louisiana leaders to by lynched for supporting the removal of Confederate statues.

Carlos Moore of Grenada filed suit Tuesday in federal court against Representative Karl Oliver of Winona.

Also named as defendants are three others who liked Oliver’s Facebook post: Representative John Read of Gautier, Representative Doug McLeod of Lucedale and Trooper Tony Dunn of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
