Davis trial date set for June 19
Former Southaven Mayor Greg Davis will stand trial on felony fraud and embezzlement charges in a Grenada County courtroom in June.
Davis served as mayor of Southaven, Mississippi’s third-largest city, from 1997 to 2013. He ran for re-election but lost to Darren Musselwhite in that 2013 bid.
The case has now been set for June 19 in Grenada, with defense attorneys having successfully argued that a change of venue was in order due to adverse publicity in Davis’s native DeSoto County.
The Court of Appeals agreed a change of venue needed to occur for Davis’ re-trial.
