Mississippi lawmaker charged with domestic violence
A Mississippi state representative has been arrested on a domestic violence charge.
District 41 State Rep. Kabir Karriem, D-Columbus, 43, surrendered to authorities at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center Tuesday morning and was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence, according to jail records. Karriem was released on his own recognizance. His court date is scheduled for October 27.
