Online auction starts for tax-forfeited Mississippi land

Mississippi is starting an online auction to sell tax-forfeited properties in Jackson and Waveland.

The auction site is run by Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann, whose office manages public lands.

Hosemann said Wednesday that bids are being taken on 379 pieces of property in Jackson, collectively valued at $7.4 million, and 100 parcels of land in Waveland, valued at $800,000.
