Candidates in two competitive judicial campaigns on the ballot in November spoke at this year’s Neshoba County Fair.

Judge Kenny Griffis of Meridian has for thirteen years served on the Court of Appeals and is challenging incumbent Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Jim Kitchens of Crystal Springs. They’re running in the Central District which stretches from Alabama to Louisiana along I-20 corridor reaching up into Bolivar and Sunflower counties and south to Jefferson County to encompass 22 counties. All or some of the nine eastern counties in the district are part of the current Court of Appeals district held by Griffis.
