First, the obvious: the crowd would be huge. Traffic would be backed up in every direction for hours. Single day ticket sales would surge. The racetrack would be packed as close to the stage as Secret Service would allow: an amazing spectacle.
As someone who loves politics at the Fair, I hope he does not come. He shouldn’t come.
The Neshoba County Fair begins the day after the Republican National Convention ends. This would be one of the first stops during the purely general election period of his campaign. There are more competitive areas to woo voters than Mississippi…
…But if Trump comes to the Fair he will endure endless accusations of racial insensitivity for speaking not far from the site of the 1964 murders of civil rights workers James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner.
