State Rep. Steve Holland, a self described “frickin’ total out of the closet liberal” Democrat, announced on the floor of the Mississippi House today that he will be filing his resignation papers as of 5pm on Thursday.
Holland is known for his wit and stories over his 33 years in the House representing Lee County.
Holland left the well of the chamber by saying, “Thank you. I love every one of you, but some of you I love more than others.”
Holland later walked back his announcement, telling Capitol reporters it was an 85% chance he retired.
