The cost of Mississippi Power’s Kemper County plant keeps rising.

The company’s April report to the Securities and Exchange Commission said the plant will now cost another $20 million, which brings the total cost of the under construction facility to $6.7 billion.

According to the report, the additional money is needed operational readiness, start up challenges and commissioning activities.
