Legislator suggests enacting ‘crazy’ Jackson takeover law
Does a state legislator really want the state of Mississippi to take over the city of Jackson?
It’s unclear, but Gov. Phil Bryant has a message for the lawmaker who dreamed up the proposal.
“Under no circumstances would Gov. Bryant sign legislation granting him and future governors authority to take over the city of Jackson or any other municipality in Mississippi,” said his spokesperson, Clay Chandler.
