Governor Phil Bryant Sets Special Election for House District 29
Gov. Phil Bryant announced today that a special election will be held on June 7 to fill the vacancy in House District 29. Former Rep. Linda Coleman, who had represented the district since 1992, was recently appointed circuit judge for the 11th Circuit Court District.
The qualifying deadline for District 29’s special election is May 9. If no candidate receives a majority of votes cast on June 7, there will be a runoff on June 28. Attached is the writ of election.
