Senator John Horhn was elected today, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, Chairman of the Mississippi Senate Democratic Caucus.
In that position, Senator Horhn will rally other Democrats on key issues and will act as their voice in the Republican majority Senate, keeping an eye out for legislation that calls for a stronger action by the party.
“I’m honored that my fellow colleagues would have enough confidence in me to elect me to this important position,” Senator Horhn said. “We will make sure the voice of Democrats is heard in the Mississippi Senate. “
Senator Horhn has served since 1993 and is Chairman of the Economic Development Committee and is a member of many others including the powerful Rules Committee, which manages the senate’s affairs.
