State Republican Party chair forecasts exciting primary
Of Mississippi’s 37 bound delegates, 12 are allocated proportionally by Congressional district to candidates receiving a minimum of 15 percent of the district vote. Twenty-five at-large delegates are allocated proportionally, with a threshold of 15 percent of the statewide vote. Three Republican National Committee members are bound to the winner of the statewide vote.
After March 8, Nosef said the primaries are all in winner-take-all states.
Nosef expects Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz still to be in the lead when they come to Mississippi.
“From what I’ve seen in terms of polling, Trump and Cruz are doing very well,” he said. He said he expected Rubio, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush to be following them.
