Bryant Names New 5th Circuit Judge
JACKSON— Gov. Phil Bryant has appointed George Mitchell, Jr. as Circuit Court Judge for the 5th Circuit Court District. The district includes Attala, Carroll, Choctaw, Grenada, Montgomery, Webster, and Winston counties. He will fill the unexpired term of Clarence Morgan, III who is retiring effective December 31. Mitchell’s appointment will begin January 1, 2016, and will run until the position is filled by special election to be held in November 2016.
