Banks filing election challenge soon
District 4 Madison County Supervisor Karl Banks plans to file an election challenge this week, citing a number of uncounted ballots as the reason.
The Madison County Election Commission certified results of the Nov. 3 general election last Thursday and declared Republican challenger David Bishop the winner by two votes over Banks, a Democrat who has served in that role for eight terms.
“We’re gonna put together all our findings and file something with the courts this week,” Banks said Tuesday as he was in the middle of canvassing ballots.
“The sooner, the better.”
