Small Business Owners Support Lt. Gov. Reeves
JACKSON – Small business owners from across Mississippi endorsed Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves’ re-election today.
Lt. Gov. Reeves’ efforts to grow the state’s economy, keep the tax burden low and prepare students for higher education or a job earned the praise of Mississippians in the National Federation of Independent Business.
“Tate recognizes the businesses on Main Street are the backbone of our economy,” said Margaret Remy, owner of Quick Prints in Meridian. “He stands by his word and fights for smaller government. We appreciate his willingness to listen to what small business owners are saying and help us grow.”
Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves has fought for reducing taxes on individuals and small businesses. He pushed to eliminate the inventory tax burden for Mississippi-grown companies. He also fought to make Mississippi’s workers compensation law more fair for the employee and the employer.
“He understands the pressures business owners face and wants to help us add jobs and support our communities,” said Max Luter, vice president of Luter’s Supply Company in Tylertown. “He successfully fought to provide much needed relief on costly inventory taxes and other reforms that have contributed to keeping our businesses growing.”
Lt. Gov. Reeves earned the NFIB’s support by helping to grow jobs, payrolls and the state’s economy rather than increase the size of government.
“Small businesses, not large corporations, are what drive growth in so many Mississippi towns,” Lt. Gov. Reeves said. “Government has to get out of the way of the small business owner and help them invest capital and add jobs.”
