Kelly turns to Washington for money in bid to replace Nunnelee
Republican Trent Kelly was in Washington earlier this week to raise money ahead of the June 2 runoff to fill the seat of the late Rep. Alan Nunnelee.
Mississippi Republican lawmakers, including Sens. Roger Wicker and Thad Cochran, and Reps. Steven Palazzo and Gregg Harper, planned to attend a fundraiser for Kelly on Capitol Hill.
“Trent Kelly will be a fine congressman,” Wicker said. “If we turn out the average voter and get a nice turnout, we’ll be in good shape.”
