MS Republican Mike Hurst – @MasonDixonPoll Puts @AGJimHood Historically Low

Mason-Dixon Poll Puts Hood Historically Low

A new Mason-Dixon Poll puts Democrat Attorney General Jim Hood at a historically low level. The poll puts Democrat Hood at 55 percent and Republican challenger Mike Hurst at 40 percent in April. In his past three elections, Democrat Hood has posted nearly or above 60 percent on Election Day after Republicans spent hundreds of thousands of dollars for several months on television criticizing the incumbent. (See attached chart.)

“I think the poll reflects the fact that Mississippians are beginning to see Jim Hood for who he is – President Obama’s closest partner and biggest advocate in Mississippi. Hood refuses to stand up to Obama’s policies being imposed upon Mississippi. Mississippians want and deserve an Attorney General who reflects our values, not Obama’s values; who will clean up our state, not let corrupt public officials run amuck; and who will defend our state against Obama’s policies, not sit back and let the Federal Government run roughshod over Mississippi. I will be Mississippi’s Attorney General, working hard for Mississippi every day and cleaning up state government just like I did as a federal prosecutor,” said Mike Hurst.

“I’m encouraged this early in the campaign that, without spending much money and not having advertised on television yet, we’re already at or above the point other candidates have reached at the end of the campaign, according to this poll,” said Hurst.
