MIKE HURST – Another Public Corruption Win For Mississippi AG Jim Hood Is Nowhere To Be Found

By: Magnolia Tribune - March 10, 2015

Another Public Corruption Win For Mississippi But Where Is Jim Hood?

Today The Sun-Herald reports contractor S.H. “Sean” Anthony “admitted in federal court this morning that he conspired with two county utility authority officials to bribe them and defraud the government.”

“I want to congratulate the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the special agents of the FBI and the IRS for another win against public corruption in Mississippi. I led this prosecution, and shortly before I resigned from the US Attorney’s Office to run for Attorney General, I filed the Criminal Bill of Information in this case. This is another example of effective prosecution of public corruption and another example of Attorney General Jim Hood being absent from the fight,” said Republican Attorney General nominee Mike Hurst.

Last month, former Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner Chris Epps and Rankin County businessman and former legislator Cecil McCrory entered guilty pleas to federal charges also prosecuted by Hurst.
