How Much Mississippi Lawmakers are Paid
In Mississippi, state lawmakers have a salary of $10,000 a year. During the session they have three pay periods, one on the first day of the session, another one month into the session, and another on the last day of the session.
Lawmakers also have a per diem of $109 a day to pay for food and housing while at the capital according to ballotpeida.com. The per diem rate varies from year to year and it is tied to the federal rate.
While not in session lawmakers are also given an office expense of $1,500 a month.
