MS Tea Party to make petition, letter push against #CommonCore at start of 2015 #MSLeg

By: Magnolia Tribune - November 11, 2014

FROM MSTP EMAIL:

Thank you for joining us in our effort to eliminate Common Core from our Mississippi schools. This will be a very large effort by a number of individuals, groups that have networked together, experts in education and psychology, and YOU, the activist.

Presented here is a summary letter of what has been done in Mississippi to collect information, to educate those who want to know more, research articles written by those interested in improving Mississippi schools, and efforts accomplished to inform State Officials about the serious problems associated with Common Core State Standards.

If you are willing to help influence our Legislators and leaders, we are asking you to:

Review the summary letter
Review the research articles (3) written by Rob Chambers
IF YOU AGREE, please sign the letter, and let us know that you are signing the summary letter (send email to: chairmanmstp@gmail.com)
Please sign the petition on Facebook to stop Common Core in Mississippi at its link: http://eduliberty.com/action-center/mississippi/
We ask that you obtain a printed copy of the letter, the research articles and the Petition.
Sign and keep a copy for yourself. Please make 5 copies of the signed letter with its attachments (one for each official to whom it’s addressed).
ATTEND THE 2:30 PM, JANUARY 6, 2015 MEETING AT THE CAPITOL IN JACKSON. We would like those who agree to BRING YOUR SIGNED LETTERS WITH YOU FOR HAND DELIVERY TO THE FIVE STATE OFFICIALS ADDRESSED IN THE LETTER.

It will require a large presence of people WITH their letters at the Capitol to impress these lawmakers that they should ACT and they should ACT THIS SESSION (2015) to rescind Common Core State Standards from our schools. We ask that you circulate this letter to your friends, relatives, acquaintances and work associates who also are concerned about this FEDERAL TAKEOVER OF EDUCATION AND HOW THIS AFFECTS OUR CHILDREN.
