The passing of State Senator Terry Brown

By: Magnolia Tribune - September 5, 2014

Folks statewide today are mourning the death of State Senate Pro-Tem Terry Brown.

Hailing from Columbus, Terry was a bear of a man both in stature and in presence.

He was respected by those from both sides of the aisle and was unfailingly loyal to his allies. He didn’t care about perceptions. He cared about results both for his state and his district, and he was very good at achieving them.

I was lucky to count him as a friend and those in politics statewide will mourn the passing one of the very last of the old guard. I watched him in action on local economic development projects in Columbus and he worked tremendously hard to make big and small economic development projects in the Golden Triangle a reality. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and closest friends. He will be truly missed.
