As credible allegations have emerged of Republican operatives laundering money to run race-baiting attacks against McDaniel and dark clouds of doubt still hang over the once-trusted name of Barbour, Republican leaders remain silent. The RNC has no response.
That’s not quite true, for Senators McCain, McConnell and Wicker all thought it quite clever to solicit black democratic voters with worse than insulting race-baiting, fear-mongering ads. And they said so publicly. It was “outreach” they claimed.
We should not be surprised by such betrayal, but we are. We heard it when Senator Mitch McConnell boasted he would “crush” the Tea Party.

Cleanse the party now for we have no hope at all for this nation if the party of Lincoln cannot reclaim its honor in a simple election in Mississippi.
