Cochran must deliver with Neshoba speech
Cochran may have to give his speech under duress. Tea party leaders have called for the McDaniel faithful to show up en masse at the fair, though McDaniel isn’t on the speaking roster. It’s tradition for supporters to wave signs, cheer on their candidates and boo their opponents. But it’s generally kept orderly, and heckling as a candidate talks is frowned upon.
But that may not be the case this year. McDaniel’s most ardent supporters aren’t known for restraint, and they’ve called for an overthrow of the state Republican Party and most incumbents therein.
