Alleged steak thief tased outside Piggly Wiggly

Wiggins Police Chief Matt Barnett said around 11 a.m. at the Piggly Wiggly an employee saw Jai Kawana Buckhalter trying to leave the store with two packages of steaks that he had not paid for. Buckhalter allegedly tried to hit the employee with the steaks as he ran out the store.

Officers arrived and chased Buckhalter on foot. The chief said Buckhalter threw a package of steaks at an officer. At that point Buckhalter was tased.
