U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., has been in Congress since the 1970s, but he’s facing a challenger in the June 3 Republican primary determined to take his seat in Washington, D.C.

Two-term State Sen. Chris McDaniel is running on a platform that the federal government should have a very limited role in how states operate and are funded.
