McDaniel campaign touts endorsement by Gary Bauer

By: Magnolia Tribune - March 13, 2014

RELEASE: Gary Bauer Endorses Chris McDaniel for Senate in Mississippi

Laurel, MS – Gary Bauer, former presidential candidate and Reagan administration official, today endorsed Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Chris McDaniel in his challenge to 35-year incumbent Senator Thad Cochran.

Gary L. Bauer is one of the leading champions of pro-life and pro-traditional family issues. Bauer served in the Reagan administration as Under Secretary of Education and as President Reagan’s chief domestic policy advisor. He currently serves as chairman of Campaign for Working Families PAC.

“Chris McDaniel has been a fighter for conservative, pro-family, pro-life values in Jackson, and I know he will go toe-to-toe against Obama’s liberal allies in the United States Senate,” said Bauer. “Having worked all eight years in the Reagan administration, I am pleased to say that Chris McDaniel is a Ronald Reagan conservative who believes in the full-spectrum conservative agenda of lower taxes, smaller government, respect for traditional values and a strong national defense.

“Now more than ever, we need bold, conservative leaders in Washington who understand the proper, limited role of government and who will unapologetically fight for family, faith and freedom,” Bauer continued. “That is why I am proud to support Chris McDaniel for the U.S. Senate.”

“I am truly humbled to have Mr. Bauer’s support in this important campaign for liberty in Mississippi. Gary’s life-long dedication to important issues of life, the family, and free markets serve as a guide for all of us concerned about the future of this great nation, and I could not be prouder to stand beside him in this fight,” McDaniel said.

McDaniel has been endorsed by a wide array of elected officials and organizations, including Club for Growth, FreedomWorks, Madison Project, Senate Conservatives Fund, and Tea Party Express.
