Single court district possible for Madison County

Creating a circuit court district just for Madison County remains a possibility in the constitutionally-mandated redistricting this legislative session that got under way Tuesday.

There are different scenarios that range from splitting Madison and Rankin counties into individual circuit court districts to just adding extra judges.

The same goes for the chancery district.

State Rep. Mark Baker (R-Brandon) chairs the House Judiciary Committee and he represents both Madison and Rankin counties.
