Miss. Insurance Commissioner: 120-140 people applied for health coverage
Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney said Wednesday morning that between 120-140 Mississippians have filled out applications for health insurance coverage on the state’s federally controlled online exchange.
That figure was current as of late Tuesday afternoon.
That’s a significant jump from a week ago, when only 35 people had navigated HealthCare.gov successfully enough to create an account. This week’s figures represent only the number of people who have filled out an application. Chaney did not provide data showing how many of those people had actually enrolled in coverage with either Magnolia Healthcare or Humana, the two carriers on the state’s exchange.
