MS fingerprint scan law on hold
Mississippi’s controversial new plan is now frozen thanks to a Hinds County Judge.
In July, Mississippi lawmakers announced a potential new law to require some parents to use a fingerprint scanner to sign children in and out of federally subsidized child care.
Hinds County Chancery Court Judge Denise Owens ruled Thursday that the state’s economic impact statement for the program is so incomplete that it did not meet the requirements of state law.
