Final Capitol Prayer and Ministry luncheon of 2013 session this Thursday

By: Magnolia Tribune - March 27, 2013

The final Capitol Prayer and Ministry luncheon of the 2013 Legislative Session will be held this coming Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the Galloway United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall across the street from the Capitol from noon until 1:00 p.m. Our guest speakers will be Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves and our Capitol Prayer and Ministry Chairman, Ben B. James, Jr. We would like to welcome everyone to attend and ask that you please RSVP to Kimberly Parker at (601)359-3246.

As we approach our final few weeks of session, Chairman Ben B. James, Jr., along with Lt. Governor Tate Reeves would like to extend a special thank you to all who have participated with the second year of the Capitol Prayer and Ministry Foundation and have made the 2013 Legislative Session a huge success. While we cannot begin to thank all those who have participated, there are a few folks who have gone over and above by speaking, serving on our advisory board, giving financially, and providing space in which our meetings were held throughout the session. A very special thanks to the following: Galloway United Methodist Church and Pastors Joey and Connie Shelton; the Mississippi Baptist Convention and Dr. Jim Futral, Dr. Jimmy Porter and Rob Chambers; Mayo Flynt, III; Pat Bruce; the Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks Conservation Officers, Commissioner Cindy Hyde-Smith; Coach Bob Tyler; Governor William Winter; Congressman Gregg Harper; and Justice Leslie D. King. We would also be remiss not to extend a special thanks to Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves who will be our last speaker of the session and who hosted our Capitol Prayer and Ministry Foundation fundraiser earlier this session which provided the funds for the wonderful ministry at no cost to those participating weekly. We were also thrilled to host a prayer breakfast in the Capitol Rotunda this year and look very forward to next session’s events and activities. If you are interested in supporting these prayer and ministry luncheons financially, please contact Kimberly Parker at (601) 359-3246. Chairman Ben B. James, Jr., and Lt. Governor Reeves would like to extend to everyone a warm welcome to participate in this last prayer luncheon of the session. Please RSVP by Wednesday of this week if you plan to attend.
