DeSoto County voters will return to the polls Tuesday for runoffs in two races left undecided Nov. 6.
Two legislative seats, Senate District 19 and House District 52, will be on the ballot. Both races are nonpartisan and will feature Republicans who survived the Nov. 6 special election, which was held in conjunction with the general election.
Turnouts are notoriously light for runoff elections, and this one is expected to be the same.
“It’s a shame that few people decide important positions,” Pat Nelson, one of the candidates for the Senate seat, said.
