Eaton Corp. wants new judge in 8-year trade-secret dispute
Eaton Corp. says a Mississippi judge rushed to judgment when he ruled the company is engaged in continued fraud upon the court, and should no longer oversee an intense legal battle between Eaton and another aerospace manufacturer.
In an unusual move, Eaton lawyers asked Hinds County Circuit Judge Jeff Weill Sr. to halt further litigation in the dispute until the Mississippi Supreme Court has ruled on a request by the company — to remove Weill from the case.
Eaton also wants Weill to retract a mid-September order in which he found the company hid knowledge of improper communication between disgraced lawyer Ed Peters and Bobby DeLaughter, the initial judge in Eaton’s eight-year trade-secrets fight with Frisby Aerospace.
