Reeves promises Fairgoers significant education reform
Significant education reform was the promise Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves made Wednesday at the Neshoba County Fair, which drew more than 150,000 people throughout the eight-day event, officials said.
Longtime Fairgoers said last week’s Fair was one of the hottest on record. Pete Perry at Cabin 291 said it was the hottest Fair since 1980. Temperatures climbed to 96 degrees on Sunday and topped 97 on Wednesday before cooling off slightly on Thursday.
Reeves told Fairgoers that he had a message for people in both parties who are scared of the future of education reform.
“Buckle your seat belts. Reform is coming to Mississippi,” Reeves said, as he pledged not to stop pressing for public charter schools.
Reeves told Fairgoers that some education administrators view charter schools as a threat.
