Bryant proposes teacher pay based on student performance
Gov. Phil Bryant on Friday unveiled a proposal to pay teachers based on student performance.
Under the proposal, local districts would have leeway in how to implement merit pay for teachers.
“It is time to start paying teachers for quality, not just longevity,” Bryant said.
The proposal requires legislative approval. It’s based on a Mississippi State University study.
