Mississippi Democrats elect party leaders during convention

Mississippi Democrats say they’re energized after this weekend’s state convention.

More than 500 attended Saturday’s convention at the Trade Mart Center. They elected at-large delegates to the Democratic National Convention, two members of the Democratic National Committee, 20 state Democratic executive committee members and six Democratic electors.

In her keynote address, Secretary of the Democratic National Committee Alice T. Germond urged delegates to organize at the grassroots level all over the state.
