Bennie Thompson calls for probe in prison riot
U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson is seeking a federal probe of the Mississippi prison riot Sunday that left a guard dead and others injured.
The 2nd District congressman, the top Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee, says the riot at Adams County Correctional Facility is “troubling and brings into question the effectiveness of privately owned and operated prison facilities.”
He has asked the FBI and Department of Homeland Security to investigate.
