CL – Health care gives economic boost
A bill making its way through the Legislature would give a tax break for physicians to locate in the state.
While the bill should help ease the state’s doctor shortage, especially in rural areas, that and other efforts to boost health care in Mississippi are good for the state’s economic development.
The bill passed recently by the House would allow newly licensed physicians to not pay state income taxes on income exceeding $100,000 a year,The Clarion-Ledger reported.
