Congress: Incumbents remain strong
While polls show American voters are increasingly angry with Congress, those feelings apparently don’t apply when it comes to their own congressmen.
Mississippi incumbent members of Congress up for re-election, including four members of the House and one senator, easily beat opponents in Tuesday’s party primaries.
Republican Sen. Roger Wicker of Tupelo, Republican 1st District Rep. Allen Nunnelee of Tupelo, Democratic 2nd District Rep. Bennie Thompson of Bolton, Republican 3rd District Rep. Gregg Harper of Pearl and 4th District Rep. Steven Palazzo of Biloxi, easily dispatched party challengers.
