Anheuser Bush joins fight to raise alcohol level in Miss. beer
Beer lovers in Mississippi are waiting for the state to catch up with the rest of America. Mississippi is currently the only state that limits the alcohol by weight limit or ABW on beer to five percent.
A grassroots group in Jackson called Raise Your Pints has been lobbying the legislature to raise that cap to eight percent.
This week, Anheuser Bush announced they were joining the battle to increase ABW limits in beer.
The beer makers local distributor, REX Distributing in Gulfport is behind the effort because it will offer more choices for consumers.
