Barbour does 2-minute drill on PERS
The most exciting part of a football game is often the final two minutes.
In football parlance, that appears to be the approach the outgoing governor, Haley Barbour, is taking. He is running the two-minute drill.
The timing is quite peculiar. If the state-sponsored Public Employees Retirement System is underfunded and in trouble, it did not reach that point in the last three months. Where was the super committee years ago? Any effort to transition the current 403b plan to a 401k plan needs years of planning, reformulating, and educating the recipients.
