Coast leaders praise, thank Barbours

BILOXI — Community leaders lauded Gov. Haley and Marsha Barbour during “farewell tour” events on the Coast on Thursday as the governor’s final term in office comes to a close.

“Thank God we’ve got somebody like him as a leader in our country,” Gulfport Mayor George Schloegel said after Haley Barbour gave a speech on the state budget and other issues in Biloxi. “What are we going to do without him?”

Later, at a reception for the Barbours at the Marsha Barbour Resource Center in DeLisle, Marsha Barbour received similar praise.
