Southaven Mayor Greg Davis under FBI investigation
A criminal investigation into Southaven Mayor Greg Davis’s expenses has been launched by the U.S. Attorney’s office, the FBI and the DeSoto County District attorney.
“I can now confirm State Auditor Stacey Pickering has met with the Northern District United States Attorney, FBI and the local district attorney, and the criminal investigation is moving forward,” Lisa Shoemaker, a spokesman for Auditor Stacey Pickering, said this afternoon.
She said the auditor’s office is partnering with the federal and local agencies in the investigation of more than $170,000 in questionable expenditures that auditors say Davis must repay for using city funds on personal expenses including trips, food and entertainment.
“Auditor Pickering has shared documents with these agencies,” Shoemaker said.
