Mayor Greg Davis misses auditor deadline; Pickering weighs options
The Mississippi Auditor’s Office late Friday was considering legal action against Southaven Mayor Greg Davis as it continued to await payment of more than $170,000 that auditors determined Davis owed the city after an investigation of his expenses.
Davis said he was confused, thinking he had received an extension of Friday’s payment deadline because of questions over some receipts.
“It was our understanding that an extension would be granted until the questions about the receipts was cleared up,” Davis said, referring to himself and his attorney. “I was shocked to learn that this was not the case, and I am royally confused, and hope to clear this up next week.”
